Advice for making a pure Tank
I'm a level 20 Warrior/Monk. I use a axe and shield with full platemail armor. I currently don't use any monk skills besides rebirth. I have all axe and strength skills, healing signet and rebirth. I need some advice on how to make a good tank and what monk skills I should use, if any? All my attribute points are in strength and axe, and the remaining couple in tactics.

Change your secondary to either ranger or necro, grenths balance and melendrus resiliance are great skills for tanking.

if you got the grenths balence route, you can have lots of points into strength and a weapon skill of your choice, as losing health is to your advantage and dealing damage is to your teams advantage.

Ok, Im reading theses posts, and I need help.
This is my first time actulley being Damage dealing Proffesion. I am not new to GW at all! I have always just been Healer. So, now it's time for me to take action.
Just made a new Character, W/Mo. She is new, so am I. I got her to lvl 10, and Im still on Island. I have farmed some REALLY good green and purple hammers, but I am currently using a sword. Are Hammers/axes even good, I never see ppl use them.
I only have points in Swordsmanship, and Strength. Im totally new to this Proffesion, let alone dealing damage to foes. I need help, obviously.
I just want to e able to take damage, while more of it in return.
I want a tanking build, but...not sure what a Tank truly implies.

Tank = you absorb a crap load of damage
I use a mesmer secondary so that I have Physical Resistance and Elemental Resistance, which are stances and last way past their recharge time.
Also, with legionairres armor, you get an additional +10 armor, which is extremely useful.
Bring "Watch Yourself" to cancel out the negative armor from physical and elemental resistance :P

endure pain is playing on the side of danger, same with defy, sometimes your monk thinks your okay, then bam, you drop to 1 health and your dead, and with grenth's balance, it shouldn't be needed, or you might wanna get a new monk, its just rare for gb to be needed in group, unless your monk is really taht terribly bad, and your eles or ss can't put out enough damage
this what i do for ANY pve grouping,
16 weapon mastery,
flurry,
healing signet,
resurrection skill,
rest attack skills,
done.
only time if i even consider any other skills is grouping for uw

a voice of sanity.
Though sometimes I like to bring healing hands when I'm doing pve, that and live vicariously is pretty solid, unless there's tons of enchantment removal.

Your definition of tank isn't defined very well...
There are in this game, 2 pure types of tanks, the defense wall, the walking bomb, and the 'third type' would be like a balance of the two...
Pure tanks don't work very efficiently in this game however and it's advised you bring some offense to the table...
Killing enemies helps the team better than most things will but don't go overzealous and forget some defense...
Real-Life tanks carry tons of armor but they do carry large barrels for a reason...
